I am full of restless energy and in creating these works I focus all that energy and all that I am seeing and feeling down into one final moment, the moment when I put down the paintbrush or pencil and walk away saying "it's finished" I am thinking one thing when I am making a piece but I don't expect the viewer to think that same thought, I expect the viewer to engage in his or her own way-we are all coming from our unique perspective to art-if it causes us revulsion, love, lust, rage, or simply understanding or just the appreciation of something visually appealing it has done its job. I work from photographs separating the planes into individual elements and redefining them on the canvas, each painting is several steps distorted from the original image and many more steps from the real thing, I like the process of running reality through the eye of many lenses so to speak.
